It
didn't start in the slopes of Mount Elgon, but it was pretty much settled
there.
I spent my first year out of college teaching in a small secondary school in
Kitale, Kenya. Nestled on the slopes of Mount Elgon, I had time to think -
to get away from my own expectations - and decide what to do with my life.
In the end, there was something about the country, the people and the wildlife
that caught my eye and my passion. When I returned to the States, I simply
knew photography was more than an avocation, it was my calling.
I've followed that call since 1988 and have been fortunate to have my photographs
published in the brochures, advertisements, annual reports, magazines
and interactive media of The
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Wilson College,
Western New England College, St. John's College, The May Institute, Make-A-Wish
Foundation, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Hewlett-Packard, Eastman
Kodak, Sprint, Samsonite
Luggage, USAA
Credit Card Bank, MBNA America Bank, The International Monetary
Fund, International Hospice Society, U.S. Information Agency, NBC, Panasonic, Prentice
Hall, Steinway & Sons Pianos, Staples and Scholastic
Reader Newsletter among others.
I approach every assignment with intellectual curiosity, an eagerness to take
on creative challenges and a drive to lock the vision I have into the photographs
my clients publish. I enjoy collaborating with others on a creative team. I like
to study design
comps, to read creative briefs, and pour over copy drafts.
It's all part of what I think of as visual storytelling. I work hard at telling
my clients' stories; telling them dependably and having a good time while I'm
at it.
I hope you'll contact me the next time you have a story to tell.
